New performance evaluation process begins May 1

During my six months as your Chief Human Resources Officer, I've had the opportunity to meet and talk with hundreds of you. In addition to meeting our frontline staff, I embarked on a listening tour to hear directly from our leaders about how Human Resources can better meet your needs.
It was wonderful to hear all the ways HR is positively impacting our employees while also providing opportunities to make improvements to many of our processes. Our HR Leadership Team is utilizing feedback from the Listening Tour to guide our departmental strategic planning conversations, and we look forward to incorporating your suggestions into our daily work to develop more efficient processes.
One initiative I'm excited to share is in regards to performance evaluations. Staff and faculty performance evaluations will now align with the fiscal year by opening on May 1 and closing on June 30. For the first time, performance evaluations will be conducted in Workday to ensure a streamlined process and user experience.
In-person leader performance evaluation training will begin in April, so stay tuned for more information on this important initiative. Performance evaluations are an industry best practice and an important tool to cultivate a culture of meaningful feedback.
I look forward to talking with more of you and look forward to sharing more of Human Resources' initiatives in the coming months.
