New faculty join UMMC academic ranks

Medical Center leadership is proud to announce the following additions to its faculty and leadership staff.
Dr. Sarah R. Guy
Dr. Sarah R. Guy, recently an anesthesiologist at Jackson Anesthesia Associates in Jackson, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of anesthesiology in the School of Medicine.
Guy earned her medical degree in 2004 at UMMC, where she also did an internship in internal medicine before completing her residency in anesthesiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
She also earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy in 1997.
Guy, who is board-certified in anesthesiology, is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and Mississippi Society of Anesthesiologists. She has made a number of professional presentations at clinical conferences and other venues.

Marisela Madrigal
Marisela Madrigal, recently a cataloger at the Mississippi Department of Archives and History in Jackson, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of academic information services.
Madrigal earned her Master of Science degree in Library and Information Science in 2018 at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.
She first joined MDAH in 2015 as a digital technician, and also worked there as a technical manager. Afterward, she was an electronic resources resident librarian at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. She rejoined MDAH in 2021.
Madrigal has a variety of publications and presentations to her credit and served in leadership roles for MDAH, the Global Conference Planning Committee for the National Information Standards Organization, and more.
Her memberships/affiliations include the Society of Mississippi Archivists, New England Archivist Society, Main Library Association, and New England Library Association.

Dr. Diane Satterfield
Dr. Diane Satterfield, recently an occupational therapist at UMMC, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of occupational therapy in the School of Health Related Professions.
Satterfield, who has 22 years of work experience as an OT, earned her Master of Occupational Therapy degree at the University of Louisiana Monroe in 2016. She also holds a Master of Health Sciences degree from UMMC and completed her Doctor of Health Administration degree at the Medical Center in 2022.
Before joining the Medical Center as an OT in 2002, she worked as an occupational therapy assistant for Mid South Rehab Services in Mississippi.
Satterfield is a certified lymphedema therapist and has been an orthopaedic/hand therapist since 2002.
