Seasoned ob-gyn specialist joins Medical Center faculty

Medical Center leadership is proud to announce the following addition to its faculty and leadership staff.

Ashley Miller Canizaro, MD

Dr. Ashley M. Canizaro has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology.

After receiving her BS in biological engineering from Mississippi State University in 2003, Canizaro earned her MD at UMMC in 2007. She received her postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynecology at UMMC from 2007-11. She served as administrative chief resident from 2010-11.

Canizaro served as an ob-gyn physician at Southern Women’s Health in Flowood from 2011-20. A fellow and diplomate of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Canizaro is a board-certified ob-gyn and an active member of the American Medical Association and the Mississippi State Medical Association.
