Psychiatric mental health N.P., pain medicine fellow join faculty

Medical Center leadership is proud to announce the following additions to its faculty and leadership staff.

Tiffany M. Griffin, D.N.P.

Tiffany M. Griffin, a seasoned psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an instructor in nursing.

After receiving her B.A. in psychology magna cum laude from Tougaloo College in 2002, Griffin served as a Teach for America Americorp member, teaching the underserved youth in Houston, Texas. After her serve agreement, she decided to pursue a career in nursing. She returned to Jackson and received an Associated Degree in Nursing from Holmes Community College in 2007. She then served as an R.N. at Brentwood and as a charge nurse on 2 South while earning her B.S.N. magna cum laude in 2010 at UMMC.

Griffin served as an R.N. at the Medical Center’s Dialysis Clinic from 2010-12 and as a renal transplant coordinator from 2012-15 while earning her M.S.N. magna cum laude at UMMC in 2015. A psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at Hinds Behavioral Health Services, Region 9, since 2015, Griffin has also served as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at St. Dominic Hospital since 2016. She is scheduled to receive her D.N.P. from UMMC in 2021.

An inductee into the Theta Beta Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, Griffin is co-chair and peer-elected member of the Unit Practice Council.

Jenna Kay Lane, M.D.

Dr. Jenna Kay Lane, recently a pain medicine fellow at UMMC, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of anesthesiology.

After receiving her B.S. in biology and her B.A. in Spanish magna cum laude from Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee, in 2010, Lane earned her M.D. as a bilingual health scholar in 2015 at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, where she interned from 2015-16. She then had anesthesiology residency training from 2016-19 and the pain medicine fellowship from 2019-20 at UMMC.

An active member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, Lane has authored or coauthored four research posters presented at scientific meetings nationally and one article in a peer-reviewed professional publication.
