Medical Center leadership is proud to announce the following addition to its faculty and leadership staff.
Laura Sestokas Humphries, M.D.
Dr. Laura Sestokas Humphries, recently a craniofacial plastic surgery fellow at the University of Pennsylvania/Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of plastic surgery.
After receiving her B.S. in psychology magna cum laude with distinction from Duke University, Durham, North Carolina, in 2009, Humphries earned her M.D. at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, Chicago, Illinois, in 2013. She then completed an integrated residency training program in plastic surgery at the University of Chicago Medicine in 2019 and craniofacial surgical fellowship training at UP/CHOP from 2019-20.
Recipient of the 2019 Resident Teaching Award from the University of Chicago Plastic Surgery Program, Humphries was an Alpha Omega Alpha inductee at Northwestern and a Phi Kappa Kappa inductee at Duke. She is a member of the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association and has authored or coauthored 29 articles in peer-reviewed publications, three book chapters, six posters presented at scientific meetings and 35 oral presentations at local, regional and national meetings.
