Longtime radiologist joins Medical Center faculty

Medical Center leadership is proud to announce the following addition to its faculty and leadership staff.

Javed Qureshi, M.D.

Dr. Javed Qureshi, managing partner and director of Inversion Recovery Imaging in Houston, Texas, and an associate physician with Virtual Radiologic in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, has joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of radiology.

After earning his M.D. at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine in 1995, Qureshi had transitional residency/internal medicine training at Birmingham Baptist Medical Centers, Alabama, from 1995-96. He served as an attending physician in emergency medicine at Cooper Green Hospital and Medical Center, Enterprise, Alabama, and at Decatur General Hospital, Alabama, from 1996-2009. During that time, he became founder and medical director of the family and occupational medicine practice at Greystone Urgent Care Clinic in Birmingham and was medical director of the occupational medicine practice at Concentra Medical Center, Birmingham.

After completing a diagnostic radiology residency at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine from 2005-09, Qureshi became a founding partner physician in diagnostic radiology for the private practice group, Victoria Radiology Associates/Radiology Partners Victoria, Texas. He has been with Virtual Radiologic since 2016 and with Inversion Recovery Imaging since 2017.

A Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology and a Phi Eta Sigma academic honor society inductee, Qureshi has given a pair of scientific presentations at the University of South Alabama.
