New Projects

The Alliance gets multiple requests throughout the year to fund or support projects and efforts all across UMMC as well as in the local community. The Alliance prides itself in supporting the needs of patients, families, students and the community.

Although UMMC takes great care of patients and provides a wonderful patient and family experience, there are needs that come up that UMMC cannot fund for various reasons. That is where the Alliance steps in! We assist in renovating patient and family areas to brighten and bring cheer as well as provide inspiring and uplifting artwork across the UMMC campus.

We help renovate patient and family areas to brighten and bring cheer, we provide funds to support student trivia night which in turn supports the local community with donations to the Jackson Free Clinic, and we provide inspiring and uplifting art work across the UMMC campus. Of course, these are only a few things the Alliance has been asked to support this past year. Check out our other new projects for more information about where your donations have gone this year.

Kwik Boost cell phone charging station

In what could become the busiest station on campus, Guest Services and UMMC Alliance have partnered to offer a free cell phone charging service in the main hospital lobby.

The station - which can charge up to eight devices at the same time - is located across from the gift shop, and can accommodate old and new devices.

The new Kwik Boost Cell Phone Charging Station, donated by the UMMC Alliance, is already being used by guests and employees, including Jane Ellen Wolf, director of Volunteer Services (pictured above).

Other projects

  • Artwork for Adult Hospital 7E and 7W
The Alliance installed artwork and inspirational phrases throughout Adult Hospital’s 7 East and 7 West. We hope to be providing a brighter day for patients and staff through these works of art.
  • Associated Student Body trivia night
In addition to supporting the well-known patient needs fund and chapel fund, the Alliance also supports students and the community? You may remember the Alliance purchasing elliptical machines last fall for the student fitness center. Well, we also supported the student trivia night by donating funds for prizes and gift cards. This event raised over $1,500 for the Jackson Free Clinic.
  • Cystic fibrosis patient and family education event
We purchased and stuffed goodie bags for the event. And we’d like to give a special thanks to UMMC Office of Development who donated treats for the bags - hats, sunglasses in fun summer colors and notepads! The Cystic Fibrosis patient and family education event was a big success, and people loved the goodie bags!
  • Interventional radiology waiting room
The Interventional Radiology waiting room looks beautiful! A sincere thank you to all who were involved in this project!
  • Kay Snodgrass artwork
Newly framed and re-hung Kay Snodgrass works are gorgeous and can be seen in the main hospital hallway that leads to the billing office. Thank you, Alliance Art Acquisitions Team!
  • Mother and baby room at Wiser
We'd like to share another job well done. The Alliance supported new artwork for the Mother/ Baby Room at Wiser, and the pieces really add some warmth to the space. They are beautiful, bright and cheery! Thanks everyone, nice work!!
  • Radiology waiting area
We'd like to give thanks to everyone involved in helping renovate the radiology waiting area. It looks terrific!
