Biography: Dr. Scattone is a licensed psychologist, board certified behavior analyst, and Associate Professor in Pediatrics at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Her current practice consists mainly of intervention and assessment for children with autism and other developmental disabilities. She earned her BA degree in Psychology from California State University Northridge and her MA and Ph.D. from The University of Southern Mississippi, School Psychology Program. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore. In addition, Dr. Scattone is an Adjunct Instructor at Ball State University’s Applied Behavior Analysis program. She has published several papers in such journals as the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders and Psychology in the Schools. Her dissertation research focused on teaching social skills to children with autism via the Social Story intervention. Current research interests include applying Parent Child Interaction Therapy to children with autism and intervention for pediatric feeding disorders.
