Biography: Shaneka Simmons Patterson, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, SCRN currently holds a position as a nurse practitioner in ambulatory neurology whose primary focus is vascular neurology, but also general neurology. She graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2008 and her Masters of Science as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2012. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She also holds stroke certification with the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing. Her entire career has been dedicated to neuroscience. She participates in UMMC Stroke Center meetings. She speaks at community events regarding stroke education. She is also a member of various nurse practitioner and neuroscience organizations. She enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and providing the very best care possible to her patients.
