Biography: Danny Burgess, Ph.D., Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, Director of the Center for Integrative Health, and Psychologist for the Student Counseling and Wellness Center. Dr. Burgess earned his doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Auburn University. He then completed his internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison, WI with a specialty in health psychology. Dr. Burgess has expertise in treating the psychological issues related to chronic medical conditions. He works with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive and holistic care to help improve patients' lifestyle habits and overall health. Dr. Burgess also provides psychological services to UMMC students and is active in giving presentations and serving on committees related to health and wellness. Dr. Burgess is also involved in the psychology and psychiatry residency programs as a supervisor and didactic instructor.
