Biography: Danny Burgess, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He is the Director of the Center for Integrative Health. Dr. Burgess earned his doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Auburn University. He then completed his internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison, WI with a specialty in health psychology. Dr. Burgess has expertise in treating the psychological issues related to chronic medical conditions. He works with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive and integrative care to help improve patients' lifestyle habits and overall health. Dr. Burgess is very active in giving presentations and seminars on a variety of topics, including lifestyle health behaviors, resiliency, mindfulness, sleep hygiene, burnout, and integrative medicine. Dr. Burgess is also involved in the psychology and psychiatry residency programs as a supervisor and didactic instructor.
