Women's Care
Main ContentMenopause Management
Menopause is a normal, natural event that marks the permanent end of fertility. Defined as occurring 12 months after the last menstrual cycle, menopause usually happens around age 51, but every woman’s experience is unique. Ovary function slows and hormonal levels decrease, often bringing on the many physical symptoms (hot flashes, mood swings, etc.) associated with this chapter of a woman’s life.
UMMC Women's Care specialists, including a certified menopause practitioner, understand their patients’ concerns and are ready to provide the most effective treatments, including hormonal therapy, for routine and complex needs of midlife changes.
