Postoperative Care of Shave Biopsy or Superficial Skin Surgery

1. If a dressing was placed in our office, leave it on for 24 hours, then remove it.
2. Clean the wound gently with soap and water once or twice daily when you shower.
3. Once the wound is cleaned, apply a thin layer of Polysporin ointment once or twice daily for at least one week.
4. During the day, cover with a Band-Aid for at least one week.
5. If the wound becomes infected or you have difficulties or questions, please call us.
