For 25 years, Mississippi Miracles Radiothon has turned the stories of Children’s of Mississippi patients and families into a powerful call to action, giving Mississippians a chance to help children receive specialized care close to home.

As UMMC students begin a new academic year, a new campus resource is helping ensure basic needs don’t stand in the way of their success. The Student Union Food Pantry, UMMC’s first food pantry dedicated exclusively to students, will provide free food and personal care essentials while bringing the Medical Center community together to support students beyond the classroom.

A reassuring voice, a favorite toy and a steady hand can make all the difference for a child facing a blood draw. At Children's of Mississippi, pediatric phlebotomists use all three to turn an often-scary experience into one focused on comfort, trust and care.
