Every hospital inpatient depends on the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s registered dietitians to keep them healthy and give them the fuel to power their healing.

Saturday’s storms didn’t dampen enthusiasm for the third annual marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K race to support the state’s only children’s hospital. More than 1,500 runners registered for the event, which was rescheduled for Sunday morning.

Although cases of measles have declined over the decades thanks to vaccines, recent outbreaks in the U.S. underscore the continued need for awareness and immunization. Understanding how measles spreads, recognizing its symptoms and getting vaccinated can help protect individuals and communities.
