Training. Dr. Hillegass received his MD from Harvard Medical School and MPH (Research Methods) from Harvard School Public Health. His internal medicine training was at the Brigham and Womens Hospital. Cardiology training at Duke University Medical Center. Biostatistics PhD earned at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Research. Dr. Hillegass' research experience includes clinical trials, large database studies, and comparative effectiveness analyses focusing on a broad range of cardiovascular conditions. These have included antithrombotic therapies, acute coronary syndromes, peripheral and cerebral vascular diseases, heart failure, diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and endovascular interventional therapies.
