Biography: Sara Withrow is a family nurse practitioner with experience in developmental-behavioral pediatrics, pediatric primary care, school-based health, and child and adolescent mental health. Her clinical and scholarly work focuses on improving access to care for children and families, particularly through innovative models that connect healthcare, schools, and community resources. She has experience in interdisciplinary care, program development, grant-funded initiatives, workforce development, and evidence implementation. As an educator and clinician, she is passionate about preparing future healthcare providers to deliver practical, evidence-based, family-centered care and to improve the systems in which children and families receive services.
My Approach to Healthcare
I believe healthcare is most effective when it meets patients and families where they are. My approach is family-centered, collaborative, and grounded in the understanding that a child’s health is shaped by far more than what happens during a clinic visit. Development, behavior, mental health, education, family circumstances, and access to resources are deeply interconnected.
I strive to listen first, partner with families, and provide practical, evidence-based care that fits within their everyday lives. I value collaboration across healthcare, schools, and community systems and believe strongly in reducing barriers that prevent children from receiving the care and support they need. Whether through direct patient care, education, or program development, my goal is to help build systems of care that are accessible, compassionate, and responsive to the needs of children and families.
