Biography: Dr. Vaitla graduated from medical school in India before relocating to the USA to pursue specialization. He completed an internal medicine residency at Texas Tech University, followed by a nephrology fellowship at Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans. Dr. Vaitla further advanced his training with a transplant nephrology fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta.
In 2016, he began his career as a transplant nephrologist at UMMC and later assumed the role of Medical Director of Kidney-Pancreas Transplantation. Additionally, Dr. Vaitla serves as the Program Director for the Nephrology Fellowship.
Dr. Vaitla serves as the site Principal Investigator (PI) for multiple research studies and grants. He is a prolific author with over 35 peer-reviewed publications
