Biography: Dr. Amber Shiflett is originally from Texas where she attended Angelo State University for her undergraduate degree. She obtained her medical degree from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas where she graduated with honors. She joined UMMC in 2002 for residency, completing a year of general surgery followed by an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency, serving as chief administrative resident. She joined as faculty in 2007 in the division of Women’s Health. She currently serves as the Medical Director of Wiser Hospital for Women and Infants.
My Approach to Healthcare
I have a wide scope of practice caring for women of all ages with a variety of obstetric and gynecologic concerns. My interests include trial of labor after cesarean section and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. I enjoy the opportunity to cultivate relationships with patients, focusing on patient centered care and shared decision-making.
