Biography: I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mississippi College in May 2009 and started working as a surgery nurse at Baptist Hospital in Jackson. During my time at Baptist, I worked with general surgery, urology and gynecologic oncology. I knew I wanted to further my education and in December 2012, I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Master of Science in Nursing. During my time as a nurse and while furthering my education, I realized how passionate I was about women's health and was able to work as a clinic nurse with Dr. Mildred Ridgway. Here I discovered my true passion of caring for women that have received a cancer diagnosis, who are undergoing treatment and are continuing to be followed for a cancer diagnosis. Since graduating as a nurse practitioner, I have been working along side Dr. Ridgway providing care for the women of Mississippi and trying to educate women on the prevention of gynecologic cancers.
My Approach to Healthcare
I like to take care of patients how I would want to be taken care of or how I would want my mom, sister, or grandmother taken care of. We will always have an open ear to listen to concerns and will always respect the patient’s autonomy if making decisions regarding their medical care.
