Biography: Kimberly Rickard is a board-certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife. She is a native of Meridian, Mississippi and completed her BSN at Mississippi University for Women and MSN in Nursing Education at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Her desire to continue to improve access to care and health equity led her to complete her MSN in Nurse Midwifery and DNP at Frontier Nursing University. She has more that 25 years of experience in labor and delivery, women's health and obstetrics. She is a member of several professional organizations including the American College of Nurse Midwives, the Association of Women's Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is committed to providing patients with high quality, compassionate care while effectively educating both patients and trainees on the normality of women's health across the lifespan.
My Approach to Healthcare
The origin of the term midwife is Old English meaning "with woman." My approach to healthcare is in partnership with women and their families, utilizing informed consent and shared decision-making. I believe the best care is achieved when we honor normalcy, individualize care, and appropriately use interventions and technology guided by the best available evidence.
