Biography: Allen Richert, MD, is an associate professor of psychiatry and division director of sleep medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Dr. Richert is board certified in Psychiatry and Sleep Medicine. He received his medical degree from Louisiana State University at Shreveport School of Medicine and completed his residency in psychiatry and fellowship in sleep medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where he also served as an instructor and chief resident. Dr. Richert has received numerous accolades over the course of his career, including Evers Society Clinical All-Star, which is awarded by medical students to the four most outstanding clinical teachers and Psychiatry Medical Student Teacher of the Year.
