Biography: Dr. James, a Jackson native, earned his medical degree at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York, New York, before completing his residency in anesthesiology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, where, in 2022, he received the Outstanding Achievement Award as a resident in perioperative medicine. He also completed a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology, followed by an additional fellowship in pediatric cardiac anesthesiology both at Emory University/Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. After completing his training, Dr. James moved back home to Mississippi where he joined the Medical Center faculty as an assistant professor of anesthesiology in the School of Medicine. His clinical interests focus on caring for pediatric patients, particularly those with cardiac abnormalities requiring cardiac and non-cardiac surgery.
