Biography: Dr. Earl is board certified in general surgery and fellowship trained in both hepatobiliary, pancreas and abdominal organ transplantation (ASTS and AHPBA certification). His clinical expertise includes all aspects of liver and pancreas surgery as well as transplantation and live donor surgery. He has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and his current research focuses on ischemia-reperfusion injury of the transplanted liver. He has presented his work at national and international meetings, is an invited reviewer for the American Journal of Transplantation, and has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters focusing on hepatobiliary surgery and liver transplantation. Before coming to Mississippi Dr. Earl was on faculty at Oregon Health and Science University as a transplant and hepatobiliary surgeon. He completed his fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and residency at Vanderbilt University. He is a graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center - San Antonio and Washington and Lee University.
