How do I fill out the printing work order?
If you are ordering any of the standard items that require an additional information form (see Forms), you'll find the specifications for each item in our Customer Guide. The specifications are also listed at the bottom of each information form. Mouse over the form fields for more information about each section. If you are placing a custom order, our staff will be glad to help you complete your work order.

How do I choose a paper stock?
If you need assistance choosing a paper stock, our knowledgeable staff will be happy to assist you. Stop by any time to take a look at our wide selection of paper swatches.

What is a PDF?
Portable Document Format (PDF) format ensures your printed file retains the formatting you intended. Microsoft Office files often do not look the same on all computers. If your file is in a format other than PDF, you'll receive a proof before printing. To ensure fast and accurate printing, we recommend converting your file to a PDF before submitting it. You'll get your job faster, and you'll save money too.

How do I save my file as a PDF?
In most Microsoft Office programs, from the File menu, choose Export or Save As. For step-by-step instructions click here.

How should I send my file?
You may e-mail the file as an attachment to For large files, please use OneDrive, the cloud service for UMMC.

How do I approve my proof?
If your order requires design or changes to an existing file, you will receive a digital proof. You may electronically sign the PDF in Adobe Reader or Acrobat and return it by email (see instructions) to the designer who sent it to you. Be sure to save the PDF with a new file name after signing. You may also fax or bring your signed proof to the Printing Department. The order will be held until the approved and signed proof is returned.
