Biography

Allison Strickland, M.D., is a native from Duncanville, Texas. Dr. Strickland joined the faculty of the UMMC Department of Neurosurgery as an Assistant Professor after completing fellowship training in Endovascular Neurosurgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She received her medical degree at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine and completed her neurosurgical residency training at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Strickland was the first female resident to graduate from the University of Oklahoma Neurosurgery Residency Training Program.

Dr. Strickland brought with her to UMMC the minimally invasive trans-radial access technique. Techniques such as this enhances patient safety and comfort and shortens recovery. Her clinical interests include ischemic strokes and vascular malformations. In her spare time, she enjoys running road races and spending time with her dogs.
