Biography

I am a pediatric infectious diseases attending at the Children’s of Mississippi and a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). I am an HIV pediatric provider and heads the Teen Health Clinic at our Children’s Subspecialty Clinic for the prevention and treatment of STI including HIV among adolescents. I am a member of the American Board of Pediatrics – Subboard of Pediatric Infectious Diseases (2020-25) responsible for developing the initial certifying, MOC, MOCA-Peds and SITE examinations. I was a member of the credentialing exam item writer for the American Academy of HIV Medicine (2019-21) which is an HIV-focused professional certifications offered domestically and internationally to medical providers specializing in advanced level HIV care. I am a member of the newly established Inclusion, Diversity, Access and Equity (IDA&E) Task Force nationally of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (2020-23) and I headed the Pediatric Inclusion and Diversity Focus Group at our Department of Pediatrics locally. I am the program director for the QI project intended to prevent COVID-19 infections among children with HIV infections funded through HRSA (H1XHA36981, 2020-21).
