Biography
I received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Accounting); Master of Professional Accountancy; and Doctor of Philosophy (Higher Education Administration) from the University of Southern Mississippi. My professional career includes two years as a cost accountant with Sunbeam Oster Household Products Incorporated; three years as a auditor with a Shearer, Taylor and Co. CPAs; five years as a Chief Financial Officer of the University of Southern Mississippi; and 14 years as Associate Comptroller with UMMC.

Dr. McElhaney earned the doctor of philosophy in higher education administration, master of professional accountancy, and undergraduate degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is a certified public accountant.
McElhaney has served as the chief financial officer for the University of Southern Mississippi Foundation and currently serves as assistant comptroller and chief internal control officer at UMMC.
