Biography

Both cardiovascular disease and neurocognitive decline share similar risk factors. My research focuses on how modifiable risk factors, particularly hypertension and inflammation, may influence cognition. Both risk factors have been implicated in neuronal loss resulting in neurocognitive decline over time. My goal is to further explain how inflammatory pathways in the brain contribute to neuronal loss and identify possible mechanisms through which these pathways may be inhibited.
