Biography

Amanda Witt, MD is an Associate Professor and Neuromuscular Division Chief in the Department of Neurology at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, MS. She is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with subspecialty board certifications in neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic medicine. She attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical School at Southwestern in Dallas, TX, completed an internal medicine internship at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas and a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX. She then completed a fellowship in neuromuscular medicine at the U.C. Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA. She moved to Jackson, MS with her family in 2011. She takes care of patients of all ages with congenital or acquired disabilities with a focus on neuromuscular disorders and spasticity management. She is the clinical director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) clinic in Jackson, MS and lead investigator for the MOVR project through the MDA. She enjoys teaching students, residents and fellows. She is also an active member of the AANEM (American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine) and has served on their education committee since 2017.
