Biography
Dr. Wells is a Nephrology Nurse Practitioner practicing in Mississippi for 19 years. She trained as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner at The University of Mississippi with additional Nephrology training via Vanderbilt University. She is certified as a Nephrology Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Wells earned her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of South Alabama in 2010.
Dr. Wells spent 3 years in a private Nephrology practice treating dialysis and CKD patients in 2003. In 2006, she joined the faculty of the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). At UMMC her clinical practice is General Nephrology and Renal Replacement Therapies. Her primary focus is developing safe patient care systems for Nephrology patients. She developed and leads the UMMC Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) program.
Dr. Wells also teaches Nephrology locally and nationally. She is active with the National Kidney Foundation's (NKF) Public Policy Committee. She supports the research efforts of the Division of Nephrology.
