Biography

Junie PAULA Warrington, PhD is an associate professor in the department of Neurology.
She received a PhD in neuroscience from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2011 and has co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 1 commentary, 2 editorial, and 1 book chapter. Dr. Warrington’s research has been continuously funded by a Pre- and Post-doctoral fellowship from the American Heart Association, a K99/R00 Pathway to Independence grant, along with an administrative supplement and NIH R56 grant from the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Warrington is co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Neuroscience Research, consulting editor of AJP: Heart, and served as social media editor of Stroke.
Using translational preclinical animal models, Dr. Warrington works on identifying pathophysiological mechanisms contributing to neurovascular abnormalities and seizures in preeclampsia-complicated pregnancies during antepartum, peripartum, and postpartum periods.
