Biography

Shou-jiang Tang, MD, graduated from the West China University of Medical Sciences in 1992. After finishing his post-graduate medical training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (medical residency), UCLA (gastroenterology fellowship), and University of Toronto (advanced endoscopy fellowship), Dr. Tang joined the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas in 2004 as an assistant professor. His research interests include endoscopic research and innovations. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed clinical journals and book chapters, with more than 220 co-authored publications listed in the Research Gate database. Dr. Tang holds five U.S. patents in endoscopic devices. He is currently the associate editor of VideoGIE, an official publication of ASGE, and has also served on several American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Committees (ASGE) committees. He was a recipient of the ASGE Don Wilson Award and served as an ASGE Ambassador to Taiwan in 2012. Dr. Tang was awarded the visiting professorship title by the Xian Medical University in China and traveled to international endoscopy courses for talks and live endoscopy demonstrations.
