Biography

Monica J Sutton completed her PhD in clinical psychology at Jackson State University, and her doctoral residency program at Mississippi State Hospital. Dr. Sutton is currently an Associate Professor with the University of Mississippi Medical Center in the Department of Pediatrics, Center for the Advancement of Youth (CAY). As an Associate Professor with the, CAY Clinic Dr. Sutton completes psychological assessments as well as provides direct treatment for patients with various mental health issues and developmental delays. In addition, Dr. Sutton conducts, group therapy with children diagnosed with ADHD and other behavioal disorders; family therapy with a focus on parenting skills, effective communication skills and parent-child relationships. She is also involved in training efforts for healthcare providers in the area of tobacco dependence treatment and various research projects in collaboration with the ACT Center for Tobacco Treatment, Education and Research. Dr. Sutton also provides clinical services and direction in her role as a consultant to various agencies.
