Biography
Dr. Lauren Rowe-Hobbs graduated from The University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2015 and stayed for residency training in Pediatrics. Following completion of residency in 2018, Dr. Rowe-Hobbs joined the faculty as a pediatric hospitalist specializing in the care of children with medical complexity. Her interests include medical student and resident education, quality improvement in reducing medication errors, and advocacy for medically fragile patients. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Rowe-Hobbs enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, biking, running, crocheting, and playing the flute.

| Pilot Project, The complex care group at UMMC is currently engaging in a pilot project in conjunction with a major insurance provider. The aim is to improve aspects of the care of children with medical complexity with subsequent reduction in healthcare cost. Measures include the number of hospital 30-day hospital re-admissions, emergency room utilization, appropriate hospital follow-up, and maintenance of regular wellness visits with the primary care physician. While much of this involves the outpatient realm, the discharge planning that my team does during hospital admissions directly effects many of these metrics. | 2021 - Present |
