Biography

I grew up in Belzoni which is a small town in the Mississippi Delta. I was introduced to medicine by my parents (both nurses) at a very young age, who took great pride in the care that they were able to provide to the residents of our small town. They encouraged me both by instruction and by their own actions to pursue a career in medicine. I then attended a small community college in the delta and from there moved on to receive degrees from the University of Mississippi in biology and eventually in medicine. I met my wife in medical school, and we jointly pursued a path in radiology. We were in training during the acquisition of the Grenada campus and were offered faculty positions here which we accepted. During our time here, we have welcomed 2 wonderful children into our family and have made a great life for ourselves and our children in this rural setting.
