Biography
Dr. Mauda L. Monger is an Assistant Professor at the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s School of Population Health, specializing in population health sciences, health disparities, and community-based research. With over 20 years of experience in public health, academia, and nonprofit leadership, she has dedicated her career to addressing HIV/AIDS prevention, sexual health disparities, and social determinants of health, particularly in underserved communities.
Dr. Monger is the Director of the Center for HIV Research, Education, and Policy at the Myrlie Evers-Williams Institute for the Elimination of Health Disparities. She has successfully led numerous federally funded research initiatives, focusing on PrEP uptake among Black women, trauma-informed care, and improving health outcomes through community engagement. As a consultant and advisor to institutions such as Brown University and Johns Hopkins University, she provides expertise in qualitative research, capacity building, and culturally competent healthcare strategies.
A dedicated educator and mentor, Dr. Monger is committed to training the next generation of public health professionals and advancing policies that promote health equity. Her leadership extends beyond academia into nonprofit work as the Founder and CEO of The SHE Project, an organization focused on empowering women and girls in marginalized communities.
