Biography
Dr. Sheree Melton is a New Orleans native who graduated from Tougaloo College in 2003. After graduation from college, Dr. Melton went on to attend Brown Medical School in Providence, Rhode Island. She completed her family medicine residency at UMMC in the Department of Family Medicine in 2010. Since 2010, Dr. Melton has been practicing in the Jackson metro area. In 2017, Dr. Melton decided to return to her roots at UMMC and become faculty in the Department of Family Medicine. Since being at UMMC, Dr. Melton has become Director of Student Programs, core faculty at for the residency program, and continues to see her own panel of patients at the Lakeland family medicine clinic. Dr. Melton is board certified in family medicine, a member of the Society of Teacher's of Family Medicine, and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
