Biography
Venkat Krishna R Mannam PhD., Assistant professor of Pathology and Director of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics Laboratory, is dual board certified in Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics, and Medical Laboratory Immunology. He received his medical degree from Madras Medical college, India and his Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences and Doctor of Philosophy in Pathology from University of Mississippi Medical Center. Following his PhD, he completed his Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics fellowship training at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Dr. Mannam’s clinical interests include Solid organ and Bone marrow transplantation. He applies novel methods to expand deceased and living donor Kidney and Kidney/Pancreas organ transplantation by utilizing epitope matching in Virtual Cross Matches to prevent organ transplant rejection. Dr. Mannam is committed in providing accurate and timely test results for Solid and Bone-marrow transplant teams and enjoys teaching and training residents in Immunogenetics.
