Biography
Dr. Lu had his MD training in China; however, he followed his heart and chose to stay in the medical school to teach gross anatomy in Beijing Medical School after graduation in 1996.
Dr. Lu came to USA in 2000 and trained as a neuroscientist at UMMC under Dr. Rick Lin. He worked on serotonin and norepinephrine pathways to facilitate the understanding of related mental disorders.
After finished his PhD training in 2008, Dr. Lu accepted a teaching position and worked at the Tougaloo College as an assistant professor to teach undergraduate students.
Dr. Lu came back to UMMC in 2011 as an assistant professor with teaching emphasize. Since then he have concentrated on the scholarly teaching of gross anatomy to both medical and dental students. His main interests are about how to better serve the students (curriculum change), help them to learn more efficiently ( self-retrieval method, peer teaching, jigsaw puzzle method etc.) and, eventually, provide better physicians to a healthier Mississippi.
