Biography
Originally from Columbus, Mississippi, I moved to Jackson, Mississippi in 2012 to begin the start of my nursing career at the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Nursing. Graduating in 2014, I decided to adventure out to Little Rock, Arkansas and start my first nursing position at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences on the medical-surgical floor. After six months of working in the medical-surgical area, I realized that my heart still longed for the critical care setting. I decided to move back to Jackson, Mississippi where I accepted a job in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CICU). The CICU has been my home for the past three years, and every day presents a learning experience that enriches my knowledge, expertise, and career as a nurse. In 2017, I began my Masters in Nursing Education. I graduated in December 2018, and I began my new career as an instructor in nursing at UMMC's School of Nursing.
