Biography
Dr. Lee earned a baccalaureate degree and master’s degree in nursing (education—pediatric focus) from the University of Mississippi School of Nursing. She currently teaches in the University of Mississippi School of Nursing Traditional BSN program, coordinating Professional Nursing and Child and Adolescent Nursing. She also teaches and precepts students in clinical experiences in both adult and child/adolescent health. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy in clinical health sciences from the School of Graduate Studies at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in May 2015. Dr. Lee’s dissertation was entitled “The effects of insulin, metformin, troglitazone, captopril, and verapamil on H9c2 rat cardiomyocytes”. Previously, she was a clinical nurse educator at the University of Mississippi Medical Center Children’s Hospital and part-time clinical faculty at the School of Nursing. She continues to work PRN as a staff nurse in general pediatrics and has been certified in pediatric nursing through the American Nurses Credentialing Center since 2001 and currently serves as chair for the ANCC Content Expert Panel for the pediatric exam. Dr. Lee is a member of the Society of Pediatric Nurses and is active in Sigma Theta Tau, serving as Theta Beta Chapter Vice President. She is active in shared governance at the School of Nursing and at the Children’s Hospital. Her research interests include diabetes, childhood nutrition and obesity.
