Biography
Jessie G. Harvey, M.D., Pulmonary/Critical Care Program Director and Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at UMMC is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine. She is from Natchez, MS and completed undergraduate training at the University of Southern Mississippi. She completed her medical training, residency, chief residency, and fellowship at UMMC and started as a faculty member in 2018. She currently serves as the program director for the Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellowship program and as the Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit. She leads the Point-of-Care Ultrasound curriculum for the Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship. She is a core faculty member for Internal Medicine and serves on the IM House Officer Selection Committee. Other committees include DoM Diversity and Inclusion, UMMC Central Line Insertion and Necessity Committee, and the School of Medicine Curriculum Redesign Task Force. She is also a House Mentor for the Evers House in the School of Medicine. She has a passion for education and enjoys getting to teach to various learner levels from M2s to 3rd year fellows.
