Biography
Allison Harris is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy. She teaches courses in neurological treatment, psychology, case-based reasoning, and assistive technology.
Harris holds a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a minor in Psychology from Texas Tech University.
Harris is a licensed Occupational Therapist with a specialized focus in neurological rehabilitation. Prior to transitioning to academia in 2025, she served as a staff OT for the Quest Program at Methodist Rehabilitation Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Her clinical expertise includes the treatment of individuals with stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and Parkinson’s disease, with an emphasis on supporting patients as they transition back into their daily lives and communities. She is also a Certified Driver Rehabilitation Specialist (CDRS), conducting driving evaluations, training, and adaptive equipment recommendations to promote safe driving for individuals with physical or cognitive impairments.
