Biography

Dr. Gummadi was raised in a close-knit community in a small town in India. He began his medical career in 2003, earning his medical degree with a scholarship from Osmania Medical College, Asia’s oldest medical school. Dr. Gummadi initially served as an emergency medical officer in a tertiary hospital in India. He then completed his Internal Medicine residency at Rochester Regional Health System, followed by specialized training in Nephrology at Temple University Health System. This advanced training involved managing complex patients on heart-lung machines and providing renal replacement therapies with intricate circuits.

Dr. Gummadi has also served as a faculty member and Medicine Consult Service Line Director at the University of Cincinnati Hospital for six years. Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions to the fields of acute kidney injury, perioperative medicine, medical errors and safety practices, and handoff policies. His extensive education and experience underscore his commitment to advancing medical knowledge and improving patient care.
