Biography

Dr. Franklin was born in the Jackson area and has taught for 27 years at all academic levels (high school, community college, and doctoral levels). Her background includes adult educational theory, online education, educational technology, communication and writing/editing, in addition to both qualitative and quantitative research.


Dr. Franklin earned the Doctor of Philosophy in higher education leadership and the Master of Education from the University of Mississippi. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Franklin worked as an instructor and faculty at the secondary and community college levels before coming to UMMC as an information technology solutions strategist in the education mission. She has served as director of continuing education in the health professions at UMMC and is presently a full-time faculty member (professor) in the DHA program, teaching various courses and serving as admissions chair of the program.
