Biography
Dr. Frandsen was born and raised in Washington State. He received his medical training at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. He completed his pediatric residency at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, OR, followed by fellowship in pediatric cardiology and advanced training in heart failure and transplant medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. He joined UMMC in 2026 to lead the pediatric cardiomyopathy, heart failure, and heart transplant program. He is a member of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplant, Pediatric Pulmonary Hypertension Network, and Pediatric Heart Transplant Society. He has published research in pediatric heart disease and transplantation. Outside of work, Dr. Frandsen finds joy running, swimming, and exploring Mississippi with his wife and three children.
