Biography
Dr. Yuanyuan Duan is an associate professor in the Department of Biomedical Materials Science and the Director of Admissions for the School of Dentistry at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). Her research focuses on the development and characterization of novel biomaterials, as well as 3D computer modeling and biomechanical analysis for dental and medical applications. She has received recognition for excellence in both research and education, including the UMMC Excellence in Research Bronze Medallion and the UMMC Norman C. Nelson Order of Teaching Excellence Award. Dr. Duan has published more than 70 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters and has served as PI or Co-I on multiple extramurally funded research projects. She is also deeply engaged in professional service, including leadership within the Mississippi Academy of Sciences and recurring service as a National Science Foundation grant review panelist.
