Biography
Dr. Naznin Dixit, is Professor and Chief of Pediatric Endocrinology at Batson Children’s Hospital at the University Of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. She has almost 30 years of worldwide training and experience managing children with diabetes and various endocrine disorders.
Dr Dixit completed her medical training at the University of Bombay, India. She did a fellowship training in pediatric endocrinology and metabolism at the New York University School of Medicine, the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Adelaide, Australia, and the King Edward Memorial Hospital in Bombay. She did residency training in pediatrics at NYU and KEM Hospital.
Before her appointment here in 2010, she was medical director of Florida Children’s Center for Endocrinology at Florida Children’s Hospital in Orlando and associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Central Florida. From 2000 to 2005, she was chief of pediatric endocrinology and diabetes in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Arizona Health Sciences Center.
Since she joined the University of Mississippi Medical Center in August of 2010, the division of Pediatric Endocrinology has shown tremendous growth. She was instrumental in establishing the first American Diabetes Association accredited Diabetes Center of Excellence for children with diabetes at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She heads a team of seven pediatric endocrinologists, two Nurse Practitioners and three Certified Diabetic Educators. She is the Principle Investigator of TrialNet, which allows for screening of relatives of patients with diabetes and other clinical trial for type 2 diabetes therapies in children
She has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and has been an invited speaker both regionally and nationally.
