Biography
Dr. James Holt Crews was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. He attended Washington and Lee University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in chemistry. For medical school and residency, he attended University of Tennessee Medical School. He immediately went to Central America with his family for a year to do medical mission work. In 2003, he joined the Woman’s Clinic in Jackson, Mississippi, and had a private practice of general Obstetrics and Gynecology for 17 years before transitioning to the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Dr. Crews provides gynecologic services including preventative care, contraceptive counseling, and diagnosis and treatment of benign gynecologic problems such as abnormal pap smears, abnormal uterine bleeding, and pelvic infections among other problems. He also provides surgical services that include diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy and laparoscopy as well as Davinci robotic surgery. Dr. Crews very much enjoys being able to use his years of private practice experience to teach today’s medical students and residents while being able to offer quality care to the women of the area. Dr. Crews has been married to his wife Sidney for over 25 years; they have raised three boys and he very much enjoys spending time with his family.
