Biography

I grew up in Jackson, MS and attended Ole Miss for my undergraduate degree. After a year off from college that included traveling the world and volunteering I enrolled in medical school at UMC. I graduated in 2010 and completed my Pediatric Residency at UMC in 2013. Currently I work in the PED as an assistant professor.

Medical Education Review Committee. This is a Departmental Committee under the UMMC Children's Hospital. We meet quarterly and review and revise the curriculum for the medical students rotating in the Department of Pediatrics. This year this involved complete revision of the M4 curriculum as the curriculum is now based on student aimed goals for residency. The new curriculum involves directing M4 students on the pathway towards their residency goal. We meet monthly to discuss and review pertinent Pediatric Trauma cases and any Morbidity/Mortalities associated with those cases. We revise and change practices if necessary deemed by the monthly pediatric trauma cases that are reviewed. Junior League Jackson, I have been a member of the Junior League of Jackson since 2017. This organization of women in our local community who are dedicated to community service and improving our community. Various volunteering commitments that I have been involved with through Junior League includes: Stewpot, JPS Summer Camps, and Art Camps at local public schools. Order Sets, In collaboration with DIS and Pediatric Infectious Disease, I am working on an order set for our patients presenting with sexual assault. The order set will streamline ED orders, follow up, as well as the complex medication regimen that these patients are prescribed. ED Admissions Process, Implemented change to the admissions process for pediatric patients presenting to the Pediatric ED.
